The Friends of St. Joseph Bay Preserves, Inc., is a non-profit Citizen Support Organization established in 2003 to protect and preserve one of the most ecologically significant areas in the Southeastern United States, and to support the St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve and St. Joseph Bay Aquatic Preserve.

Notice:  For your protection against the spread of COVID-19, the visitor center lodge will be closed to the public and tram tours are suspended until further notice.

All Buffer Preserve trails have reopened for use from sunrise to sunset. This includes our kayak launch! Social distancing guidelines have been placed at each trail entrance for your safety.

The St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve Visitor Center and Observation Tower is open to the public weekdays 9AM – 4PM EST and is located  at 3915 State Road 30A, Port St. Joe, Florida 32456.
